Something that I do each morning before I go for my daily ride is take a bale of hay and do 50 leg ups on the bale of hay. I find that the height of the hay was perfect for a beginner, but I have now stacked 2 bales of hay and it takes an effort to step up on the height of 2 bales of hay. When riding, you need a lot of leg strength and I find this helps me not only be a better rider, but keeps my legs nicely toned!

Horseback riding is an incredible workout. There are many muscles that can be worked that people might not even be aware of. While I ride, I keep my stomach tight and tense my legs. I get a lot of compliments on my figure at 40 and I believe it's from my years of horseback riding. I don't do the usual working out that many people do. I find a daily ride keeps me fit.
